Second Annual Day of Prayer Held

by Mandy Welch '04

July 1 marked the second annual Day of Prayer for Azusa Pacific University. The tradition began when President Jon R. Wallace, DBA, introduced the idea in his April 2001 inaugural speech. The Day of Prayer takes place on the first day of the new fiscal year.

The event is a time for reflection, prayer, praise, and worship as a community. Faculty and staff gathered to lift up the school, students, and the surrounding Azusa/Glendora area in prayer.

This year, participants were encouraged to fast from Sunday’s dinner hour until Monday at lunch to help prepare hearts for fellowship and listening to God.
