AWI Church Cohort
Here at Angeles Worship Initiative, we want to partner and support local churches and Christian communities in designing and exploring new approaches for worship arts ministry that nurture and integrate youth more fully into the larger congregation’s mission and ministry. We offer an exciting opportunity for youth pastors, worship leaders, and adult mentors who work with youth to design and launch a project unique to each church context.
If you have questions filling out the form or general questions about the cohort program, please contact us at email@example.com.
An Invitation to Explore Intergenerational Worship
Is there an innovative approach that you would like to explore? Perhaps you would like to reimagine something that currently exists? The Angeles Worship Initiative invites churches and ministries into a journey of exploration in intergenerational worship. AWI is here to support you in this journey with tools, resources, and financial support.
Frequently Asked Questions
What will the project entail?
The project will involve a new approach to intergenerational worship, utilizing music and the arts in some way. This can be something entirely new to your local ministry, or it can involve the reinvention of something that has been around for a long time.
How long will this project be?
The innovation project that you choose to engage with is designed to be one year in length. The journey will officially begin in June at Worship Arts Lab and will conclude at the next Worship Arts Lab the following June.
What will the project include?
The project will be designed by you, in collaboration with those in your church who will be directly involved with its implementation. Our hope is that it will reflect the vision and specific needs of your local ministry. We ask that teenagers be an integral part of the project and be provided with the opportunity to grow in areas of leadership and service.
What values will this project reflect?
Healthy mentoring relationships between teens and adults have proven to be one of the key factors in the flourishing of youth as they transition into adult life. These relationships form a vital pathway for faith formation and sustained involvement in a faith community.
How might this project set up a practice of innovation in your ministry? Our hope is that this one-year endeavor will continue to spark the imagination of your congregation for years to come. Innovation can involve something previously untried. It can also involve the reimagining of something currently underway or the rebirth of an older practice.
True leadership begins with serving others. How can your project provide opportunities for youth to both serve and lead in your local worship context?
We strongly believe in the power of our youth to become positive difference makers in the world. With this in mind, AWI desires to empower youth by providing them with opportunities for leadership and service, for developing skills and honing their craft, and for theological reflection as they continue to develop in their faith.
