Welcome to West Campus
The 53-acre West Campus is home to two libraries, the Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center, the John and Marilyn Duke Academic Complex, the Barbara and Jack Lee Place of Prayer, the Segerstrom Science Center as well as numerous classrooms, offices, and athletic facilities. -
Cornerstone Tower
A recent addition to the APU landscape, the Cornerstone Tower’s chimes can be heard throughout the day on West Campus. The four pillars of the tower represent the four cornerstones of the university, with the pillar representing Christ standing higher than the rest. -
APU Trolley
Four APU trolleys shuttle students, faculty, staff, and visitors between the university’s East and West Campuses Monday through Friday. -
Riding the Trolley
Students take advantage of the quick trolley ride between campuses to catch with friends or to study for their next test! -
Felix Event Center
The 70,000 square-foot Felix Event Center is home to Cougar basketball and volleyball. In addition to providing a location for university events like athletic competitions, chapel, Dinner Rally, and Night of Champions, the Felix Event Center provides a venue for community gatherings, including graduations, concerts, and conventions. -

Choose any of the 3,500 seats in the Felix Event Center and you’re sure to be close to the action of an APU basketball game. -
Kresge Plaza
The Kresge Plaza leads to the John and Marilyn Duke Academic Complex, the Hugh and Hazel Darling Library, Heritage Court, the University Bookstore, and the Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center. Tables, chairs, and umbrellas adorn the courtyard, making it a popular lunchtime destination. -
Bookstore
Besides textbooks, students can purchase art supplies, APU clothing and memorabilia, greeting cards, picture frames, novels, snacks, and more at the University Bookstore. -

Heritage Court
Heritage Court provides a convenient and fun eating spot for students on the go, in need of a study break, or hanging out with friends. Students can choose from deli-style sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, smoothies, ice cream, and other delicious options. -
Fitness Center and Weight Room
Are you looking to pump iron in your free time, get buff, or work out to fight off the “freshman 15?” Located on West Campus, the weight room and fitness center is open for students’ convenience. There is no cost to use the facility. -
Hugh and Hazel Darling Library
Located on West Campus, the Hugh and Hazel Darling Library is easily recognizable by its soaring stained glass skylight. It offers students an updated library environment that includes book stacks, individual study carrels, the Ahmanson Information Center, several scholar study rooms, group study rooms, and conference rooms. -

With its picturesque and convenient study areas, Darling Library is a favorite campus homework spot for many students. -
Across the Plaza
Students leaving class enjoy a short walk across Kresge Plaza to reach lunch at Heritage Court, supplies at the bookstore, or study materials at the Darling Library. -
Place of Prayer
Constructed in 2007, the Barbara and Jack Lee Place of Prayer borders the Kresge Plaza on West Campus, providing students, faculty, and staff with a place to slow down and reflect during the busyness of the day. -
Duke Academic Complex
The John and Marilyn Duke Academic Complex houses the School of Theology as well as several other graduate and undergraduate departments, and features updated classrooms, seminar rooms, a lecture hall, and two art galleries. -
Inside Duke
The Duke art hallway features artwork donated by past APU students. The two-story ceilings offer room for larger-than-life pieces that students enjoy as they head to their next class. -
Art Wedge
A nickname for the conjoined art classrooms in the John and Marilyn Duke Academic Complex, the Wedge houses art classes as well as Art Gallery West. -
Duke Art Gallery
The Duke Art Gallery, located on APU’s West Campus, serves as one of four main venues for university student and faculty work, private collections, and special exhibits showcased throughout the year. Past exhibits include Revisiting Pollock, which featured paintings attributed to the acclaimed 20th century artist, Jackson Pollock. -
Outdoor Class
California’s sunny weather often allows professors to teach their classes outdoors. Designed with this in mind, the university has several spots conducive to a class session under the sun. -
Mary Hill Center
The Mary Hill Center was named for the university’s first president, Mary A. Hill. The center houses a variety of undergraduate and graduate classrooms. -
Warehouse Theater
The Warehouse Theater houses APU’s theatrical productions. The Department of Theater Arts currently performs four faculty-directed stage productions per year, and several smaller student-led productions. -
APU Theater Production
In addition to performing, the theater department is dedicated to the study of all aspects of theater as an integral part of a Christ-centered, liberal arts education. -
Building One
Located near the West Campus Lawn, Building One houses APU’s School of Education, Department of Art, Department of Design, and School of Nursing. -
West Campus View of the Foothills
As the sun goes down over West Campus, its final rays light up the Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center, located just a block away from East Campus. -
Segerstrom Science Center
Completed in 2009, the 71,000-square-foot Segerstrom Science Center includes a 90-seat lecture hall, 26 classrooms, 37 teaching and research laboratories, NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) and electron microscope rooms, faculty offices, student study and community areas, and APU’s Center for Research in Science (CRIS). -

From natural science to nursing and athletic training, all majors with extensive science requirements spend much of their time in one of the labs in the Segerstrom Science Center -
Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex
Opened in 2009, the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex is located adjacent to the Cougar Soccer Complex on West Campus. The 8-court complex offers a winning facility for the nationally recognized APU men’s and women’s tennis programs. -
Softball Field
Home to the Cougar softball team, the softball field is adjacent to the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex. For the past ten years, the softball team has averaged 32 victories per season, including a school record 53 in 2000 when the Cougars advanced to the NAIA National Championship game. -
Soccer Field
APU Cougar men and women’s soccer teams call the soccer field on West Campus home. Both teams have staked their claims as two of the top programs in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
