Biography

Amy Tauati, MSW, has worked in the field of gerontology for more than a decade, making older adults and their well-being the focus of her personal and professional mission. She has extensive experience in grant writing, nonprofit management, and program administration, and a passion for community practice and bridging the divides between for-profit, nonprofit, and faith-based organizations. She has taught courses in the undergraduate and graduate social work programs at Azusa Pacific, including courses in gerontology, policy, grant writing, and community practice. She was the coordinator of BSW field education at APU, providing oversight, administration, and instruction for field internships; she is now the BSW program director and is responsible for the direction and administration of undergraduate programming in the Department of Social Work, including the creation, implementation, and quality of the BSW curriculum. In addition to her work at APU, she partners with several local nonprofits to provide professional service and consultation related to her work in gerontology and connected to her passion for criminal justice reform.
