Biography

Froylana Heredia-Miller, MSW, LCSW, is an assistant professor and director of field education for APU's MSW program, involved with oversight of all practicum coursework, field instructor training curriculum, agency contracts, and development and maintenance of all practicum sites. She also teaches field-related courses. Her professional experience includes coordination of the Mental Health Stipend Program at Loma Linda University, coordination of graduate social work dual-degree programs in criminal justice and gerontology, program directorship for domestic violence treatment programs, medical social work, international social work practice, trauma and crisis intervention, community behavioral health, and graduate field education. She is an active member of several committees, including the Inland Empire Clinical Education Collaborative, the Riverside University Health System Behavioral Health Steering Committee, and the board of directors for the North American Network of Field Educators and Directors. Heredia-Miller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of clinical experience, and is a certified trainer in the Trauma and Community Resiliency Model. She has travelled to many places, including Kiev, West Africa, Japan, the Philippines, and Canada, to train and provide clinical support to individuals and communities impacted by traumatic events. She maintains a private practice and provides clinical supervision to associate clinical social workers.
