Biography

Joshua “Dex” Dexheimer, Ph.D., CSCS, instructs a variety of courses within the undergraduate kinesiology program, and his main research interest is related to CrossFit sport performance. He is also interested in the acute responses and chronic adaptations associated with CrossFit training, as well as assessing aerobic and anaerobic performance using the running 3-minute all-out test, examining critical speed and anaerobic distance capacity. His experience has allowed him to create an applicable and interactive environment for students that supports optimal learning, and he has a passion for equipping each student with the tools to pursue their passion. Dex’s wife, Lauren, is a neonatal ICU nurse at UC San Diego Health, and they enjoy CrossFit and beach days.
