Biography

Michael Fileta, M.A., M.S., is a research associate at the Evaluation and Training Institute, where he conducts educational research and evaluation studies across the country within a variety of educational domains. Fileta also has experience as a student and academic affairs administrator focusing on academic support programs, including academic probation, first-year seminar, and academic advising. He also spent many years as a program evaluator for various educational organizations (community-based nonprofits, K-12, and higher education). His research focuses on examining the assessment, evaluation, and research capacity of practitioners within applied educational settings. Fileta believes that by increasing practitioners’ capacity to systematically understand the impact of their programs on the students they serve, they can more adequately fill in the gaps and make necessary program improvements. He is also completing the final year of his Ph.D. in Education: Education Policy, Evaluation & Reform at Claremont Graduate University.
