Web 2.0 social media sites like Facebook, text messaging, and TV filtering systems like DirectTV present new challenges and opportunities to businesses as they learn to communicate with their customers in a new world. Organizations need experts who can help them navigate these uncharted waters and ensure that they are taking advantage of new technology and best practices to reach their target audiences. APU’s marketing major uniquely equips professionals to meet this challenge, guiding their organizations to communicate effectively in a challenging, shifting marketplace.
Gain In-depth Learning Experience
The marketing program emphasizes real-world internship experience. Students have the option to take part in SBM-sponsored student organizations, which allows students to work on marketing projects with community businesses and present the results to Fortune 500 CEOs. As part of the Global Marketing Management course, students can work on marketing projects abroad through the International Business Institute. Additionally, many students choose to participate in the General Motors Internship Program, which involves a national marketing competition and the formulation of a comprehensive promotional strategy. These provide practical opportunities to network in the field and ensure that marketing students graduate with significant experience on their résumés.
