 Allen Guelzo, Ph.D., is the Henry R. Luce Professor of the Civil War Era and Director of Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College.  He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.  He has published numerous book on American intellectual history, Abraham Lincoln, and the Civil War.  Both Abraham Lincoln: Redeemer President and Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation: The End of Slavery in America were awarded the Lincoln Prize as well as the Abraham Lincoln Institute Prize.  He has also written for The American Historical Review, The Wilson Quarterly, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal, and has been featured on NPR, C-SPAN, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
