The hit musical based on John Waters' cult classic film, Hairspray is boppin' onto the stage this spring, and it's piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and infectious tunes. Set in '60s Baltimore, Hairspray tells the story of lovable plus-sized teen. Tracy Turnblad is a misfit who becomes a local celebrity by dancing on TV's Corny Collins Show. Tracy's love of dancing leads her to become an unlikely heroine, triumphing over both snotty teen queens and racial segregation. And she does it all without missing a hair on her stylish 'do.
HAIRSPRAY is presented through special arrangement with Music theatre International (MTI). 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019. Phone: 212-541-4684 Fax: 212-397-4684
