Christopher Stackhouse is a writer, artist, curator and teacher. He is author of a chapbook Slip; co-author of image/text collaboration, Seismosis, which features his drawings with text by writer/translator John Keene; and a volume of poems, Plural.
Numerous arts and lietratry publications have featured his writings including Make: A Literary Magazine, Modern Painters, Art in America, and The Brooklyn Rail. His writing also appears in a book by artist Kara Walker, Dust Jackets for The Niggerati and an artist monograph of Jean Michel Basquiat, Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks, that accompanied an exhibition at The Brooklyn Museum in spring 2015.
With artists Jomar Statkun and Jared Friedman, Stackhouse is a founding member of the roving artists in residence project This Red Door, which will present its fifth iteration in Hamburg, Germany summer of 2015. He has taught at and received academic appointments to the New York Center for Art & Media Studies, Naropa University Summer Writing Program, Ohio State University, and Maryland Institute College of Art, among others
