Angela George, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of art history at APU and director of the Master of Arts in Modern Art History, Theory, and Criticism program. She focuses on the history of American art as well as decorative arts and design history. She received her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Maryland and her M.A. in History of Decorative Arts and Design from Parsons School of Design. She has held positions in the curatorial departments of a number of museums, including the National Gallery of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hillwood Museum & Gardens, and the Gamble House/USC. She will be sharing her story of moving through the educational and professional journey as an art historian and what moved her into this field of study.
