Insights on Suicide Awareness from Recent Research (K. Ecklund, C. Lehmann, S. Mansour, C. Leung)

Monday, April 6, 2020, 122 p.m.

Suicide has increasingly become a major health issue. Suicidal ideas and attempts, and successful suicides, touch the lives of many youth and young adults, either through their own experiences or those of friends and family. This presentation dispells several myths about suicide and addresses questions and concerns about the rise in self-injurious issues in society, with participants developing a framework for understanding why people think of suicide and why some attempt suicide. The session includes time for participant questions.
