APU Living Composer Band Festival

This special festival gives high school band students a collegiate experience along with a collaborative and positive performance opportunity with college faculty and a guest composer. Selected high school bands meet for a day of open rehearsals and creative clinics with featured composer and APU alumnus Darryl Johnson II ‘06, as well as APU faculty John Burdett ‘01, Ed.D., and Alexander Koops, DMA. The festival is from 1:30-6 p.m., followed by an evening showcase concert at 7 p.m. in Munson Recital Hall.
