Nursing Pinning Ceremony, School of Nursing

The School of Nursing's (SON) Pinning Ceremony celebrates students that have completed the criteria necessary to transition from student to nurse. The ceremony includes both a pinning and a candle-lighting activity that illustrate our students' membership into the community of nurses worldwide. The act of pinning is more than just an APU School of Nursing tradition, it is an industry tradition that has roots dating back to the 12th century Crimean War and Florence Nightingale. We are proud to celebrate the history and tradition of those before us!
