This third discussion of the Spring semester is with Devon Tsuno.

Los Angeles-native Devon Tsuno paints with spray paint and acrylic. His recent body of abstract paintings on handmade papers focuses on the LA landscape’s bodies of water and non-native vegetation. Since 2003, Devon has worked as the founder/director of Concrete Walls, an artist run curatorial project that focuses on building community by facilitating collaborations, educational projects, and group exhibitions throughout Southern California.

Tsuno has exhibited internationally in Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and New Zealand. Recent solo exhibitions include Roppongi 605 (Tokyo) and PØST (Los Angeles). Notable US exhibitions include the Hammer Museum Venice Beach Biennial, Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, Torrance Art Museum, Sam Lee Gallery, PØST, Carl Berg Gallery, Raid Projects, Ruth Bachofner Gallery and Summercamp's ProjectProject. Recent collaborations include projects with Sony, Finishing School and Bruce Jones Surfboards. Tsuno was the artist in residence at Chloë Flores FaceBook, and will be an artist in residence at Stichting Kaus Australis in Rotterdamn in 2013.

He has been an instructor at CSULB, Cypress College, Cerritos College, Idyllwild Arts, East Los Angeles College, CSSSA at Cal Arts, and the University of La Verne.
