Biology student wins top poster presentation award at regional conference

Biology student Alexa Mayer competed in the Southern California branch American Society for Microbiology Conference collegiate poster session on Saturday October 27 in La Jolla, California.  She was one of two students to receive an award in the undergraduate poster category.  Alexa was awarded a full travel grant including hotel and registration to present her research poster at the American Society for Microbiology national conference in San Francisco in June, 2019.  Alexa is currently involved in a research with faculty mentor, Scott Kinnes.
