Dean's Desk (February 2017)
Greetings from sunny Southern California! We are in between rain storms at the moment, so everyone on campus is outside trying to soak up the warm 75 degree sunshine before the rain returns later this week.
It's not all play, of course, as students are busy preparing for midterm exams, preparing first drafts of research reports, and looking for the perfect summer internship. Faculty and staff are busy, too, gearing up for the Common Day of Learning on March 1st and even planning for next fall.
It is also recruitment season, and we are eager to tell students about our new undergraduate majors in public relations, applied mathematics, engineering, and international relations. If you know of students who are looking for a dynamic and challenging collegiate education, please let us know. We'd love to share more about these new programs with them!
It might be recruitment season for you, too, and we are always looking for new job opportunities to share with our talented APU CLAS Alumni. If you or your employer is hiring, please send a note to our firstname.lastname@example.org crew. We would be happy to post the announcement on our CLAS Facebook account and include it in the next newsletter. Who knows? The next reunion with a former APU classmate could be closer than you think!
With warm regards,
Jennifer E. Walsh, Ph.D.
Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
