A doctor's typical starting salary is $107,442. The typical salary after 10–19 years is $168,349. A dentist’s typical starting salary is $97,077. The typical salary after 10–19 years is $124,249.
Internship and Graduate School Opportunities Premedicine/Predentistry
About 80 percent of APU’s medical majors participate in internships and/or conduct research within the Department of Biology and Chemistry. Other internships include medical missions in Mexico and performing venipuncture at Monrovia Community Hospital. Historically, 80 percent or more of students who have completed our rigorous premedical track have been accepted into medical school.
Medical schools to which these students have been accepted include the following: University of California San Diego, Baylor, UCLA, UC Irvine, Albert Einstein, Finch, Georgetown, University of Illinois Chicago, Loma Linda, St. Louis University, University of Southern California, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon Health and Science, Kansas State, Penn State, Wayne State, Temple, Tulane, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Medical College of Wisconsin, Uniformed Services, and seven Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.
