Hannah Yi, a Los Angeles native, began her piano studies under Ick-Choo and Hae-Young Moon, and continued her piano education at the Eastman School of Music with Nelita True and Fernando Laires. She also studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Irina Plotnikova and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University, studying under Roza Kostrzewska Yoder. In 2006, Yi moved to Chicago and received her master’s degree from Depaul University under Eteri Andjaparidze. In 2008, she won the Union League Civic and Arts Scholarship Competition in Chicago, IL.

Yi also has an established portfolio of live performances and has soloed with the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, YMF Debut Orchestra, Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, Pasadena POPS Orchestra, Antelope Valley Symphony, and the Azusa Pacific University Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Yi is a member of the Belden Piano Quartet and was Resident Chamber Musician at the Pine Mountain Music Festival in 2009. She has also been on the piano faculty at Depaul University Community Music Division and is currently staff pianist and opera coach at Azusa Pacific University.
