The Department of Art and Design offers the Art and Design Scholarship to eligible students. This is a talent-based scholarship program available to incoming art and design majors. These majors include:

  • Art, BA
  • Graphic Design, BA
  • Visual Art, BFA

Applications for fall 2018 are due February 15, 2018.

To apply for a Art and Design Scholarship, please submit the following via Slideroom:

  1. Portfolio of 12 images of completed work, labeled with title, date and medium.
  2. Résumé including extracurricular and other activities in your background, especially any creative and/or collaborative projects where you played a significant role.
  3. Write a short essay (750 words or less) on why you wish to pursue art or design, and detailing your career objectives as you presently conceive them. Consider addressing some of the following questions: What has inspired your choice to seek a future as an artist or designer? How does your background and experience influence the kind of art you want to produce? Which artist or designer has influenced you and how have they inspired your work? How does this calling influence who you are and your goals? What kind of career path do you intend to follow?

Your statement should give the Art and Design Scholarship Review Committee a sense of your creativity, long-term goals, vision, and artistic ambitions.
