Meet the Staff
- Brittany Billar, M.S.Executive Director of Communiversity
Brittany serves as the executive director of the Office of Communiversity, and her span of responsibility includes overseeing the areas and programs within Communiversity and care of our commuter students. She enjoys encouraging students to discover their purpose and is committed to seeing students get connected and a find sense of belonging. Prior to working at APU, Brittany worked at Northern Arizona University in fraternity and sorority life and residence life. She earned her M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Colorado State University and earned her B.A. in Communication Studies from Azusa Pacific University. Brittany is from Fountain Hills, Arizona, and she enjoys hanging out with her husband Mike and their three kids, and loves books, coffee, and Target.
- Alex Oh, M.S.Director of Campus Activities
Alex is the director of campus activities at the Office of Communiversity. Alex graduated from UCSD with a B.S. in Management Science to pursue a career in business, but God had something else for him. His active involvement in student leadership roles at UCSD led him to pursue his master’s in college counseling and student development at Azusa Pacific University, and has served in higher education field for the past 10 years. Alex spent a majority of his professional career in residence life as an assistant residence director, residence director, and associate director of residence life before beginning his current role in 2016. Alex is married to Hanna, and has two kids, Lucy and Luke. He enjoys good conversations over coffee, listening to music, and a good game of Settlers of Catan with friends.
- Rhianna PierreAssistant Director of Commuter Life Services
Rhianna is originally from La Verne, California. She graduated from Westmont College with a B.S. in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity at Azusa Pacific Seminary. During college she was an RA for two years, instantly falling in love with the impactful and transformative work of student life and higher education. After graduating from Westmont she worked in church ministry through the Free Methodist denomination of Southern California and was also a residence director at APU. She is overjoyed to be in the Office of Communiversity as the assistant director of commuter life services and loves finding ways to create opportunities for commuter students to feel a sense of belonging and connection on campus. She is a huge fan of deep conversations over perfectly crafted cups of coffee, finding the rare fall-colored leaf in sunny Southern California, and being a part of anything that involves dancing.
- Ross BakerAssistant Director of Campus Recreation
Ross serves as the assistant director of campus recreation overseeing Outdoor Adventures, intramurals, and club sports for APU. Previously, Ross served as the director of residence life for Greenville University in Illinois. With a background in education, Ross has a passion for creating environments outside of the classroom for students to grow and learn more about themselves and their Creator. He is currently finishing an M.A. in Higher Education at Geneva College. Ross and his wife, Rosie, along with their two children reside in Azusa.
- Sabrina WillisonClubs and Organizations Graduate Assistant
Sabrina is from La Verne, California. She recently graduated from Sonoma State University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Currently, Sabrina is in her first year of the college counseling and student development (CCSD) master’s program here at APU. She enjoys petting dogs, eating french fries, and playing tennis.

Plan and implement campus-wide events that bring about a sense of community among all members of the campus
- Commuter Life: Bitzareth Caldera
Works to connect nonresidential students with the campus community
- Performing Arts: Michelle “Mimi” Dao, Lindsay Hopkins
Plan and promote on-campus concerts featuring local and nationally recognized bands as well as creating opportunities for students to discuss and experience diverse global issues including social justice and cultural awareness
- Intramurals: Daniel Choi, Joshua Hazen, Johanna Marquardt
Organize intramural sports tournaments for APU students, faculty, and staff over the course of the school year (fall: bowling, flag football, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and zumba; spring: 4 v. 4 men's and woman's sand volleyball, basketball, and softball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer)
- Outdoor Adventures: Kyle Brower, Louise Clark
Coordinate outdoor recreational programming including backpacking, rock climbing, and camping
