Students: Campus Life Update from Student Affairs

Dear Student,

Congratulations on finishing spring semester with resilience and grace. You did it, and we are so proud of you!

As we transition to the summer season, we hope you get rest and find new ways to engage with those around you so that you approach the semester ahead with renewed hope and energy. Know that we are here for you and want to continue to provide you with resources, information, and connection opportunities.

Around Campus

We understand that students and families are eager to learn more about what the fall semester will look like at APU. The State of California intends to offer directives on reopening institutions of higher education as early as next month. As we monitor this guidance, President Ferguson and the President’s Cabinet are currently developing return to campus plans for fall, with appropriate modifications to safeguard the health and safety of our community. We will share those with our students, families, and other constituencies as soon as we are able. Thanks for your patience!

Student Health Center Update

As we await further guidance from our federal, state, and local public health experts, we are planning additional safety measures for students’ return to campus. While the vast majority of college students are at very low risk for complications due to COVID-19, there are a few conditions that the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention deem to place a person at high risk for complications due to COVID-19. Dr. Emerson has provided important information for individuals with these conditions, including asthma, to help them lower their risk for complications. If you have asthma, learn more about ways to help you stay well this summer and prepare for fall.

Please also continue to visit the APU COVID-19 website for updated information as developments occur.
