Graduate and Professional Students: Services to Support You This Fall (7-29-20)

Dear Students,

We hope you are staying well during this unprecedented season. We recognize that the world’s global health crisis and country’s racial discord have brought a complex set of physical and emotional challenges to our institution and our lives. To address these difficult times, invest in your health and wellness, and foster a sense of belonging in our community, we want to provide tools that encourage your well-being and support you reaching your academic and personal potential. Consequently, APU faculty and staff are working hard to provide Christ-centered support services, programs, and educational opportunities in remote settings to help you thrive academically, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Here are a few updates regarding services, as we anticipate our semester together:

Health and Wellness

APU Telehealth

Beginning in late August, all current graduate and regional campus students will automatically be eligible for enrollment in APU Telehealth at no additional out-of-pocket cost. Our program, in partnership with a telehealth industry leader for higher education, provides students 24/7 access to online health, counseling, and crisis intervention services through a downloadable app. Additional information coming soon.

Student Health Center (SHC)

SHC is open and available to support student health and safety. In-person appointments for COVID-19 testing are available at a reduced cost. Telehealth appointments, as well as regular in-person primary care health appointments, will be available.

For graduate and regional campus students who choose to opt into APU’s student health insurance plan, coverage will not change as we move to remote learning. If you live out of state, you can still seek services using the student health insurance plan. For more information about this plan please see: Health Insurance - Student Health Center.
