As part of our overall COVID-19 Monitoring Program, Azusa Pacific University’s COVID-19 tracker provides up-to-date, targeted information on incidence of COVID-19 at APU. The tracker includes confirmed, positive COVID-19 cases among the limited number of students living in off-campus, university housing or taking classes in-person, and faculty and staff granted access to campus since the start of the Fall 2020 term (August 31, 2020). Upon the eventual re-opening of and return to campus, when authorized to do so by state and county public health agencies, APU will implement its robust testing strategy and in-depth information will be reported here.
Currently, this data is categorized by campus and includes APU’s Azusa main campus and seven regional campuses. The tracker does not include positive cases that have not been reported to APU through official channels or positive cases among our population of employees and students who are not permitted to visit our workspaces or campuses at this time.
This information will be updated on a weekly basis or as confirmed cases are reported to APU’s Health Center.

On-Campus Testing for COVID-19
Our new APU COVID-19 Testing Center enables all students, faculty, and staff to obtain testing for COVID-19 at reduced prices and faster turnaround times. Testing will be performed on those who are experiencing potential COVID-19-related symptoms as defined by the CDC. Testing is available at the main campus in Azusa as well as most Regional Campuses.
- Students can use the MyCougar Health Portal to schedule a COVID-19 phone screening. A provider will call you to discuss your situation and schedule an appointment.
- Faculty and staff may schedule testing appointments by completing a testing form or by calling (626) 815-2100.
If you are a student, faculty, or staff member who has developed symptoms that could be compatible with COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19, and you either live in university housing or have visited APU-owned or -controlled property while experiencing symptoms or within fourteen (14) days of exposure, APU health and safety policies require you to notify the university within 24 hours of this occurring. This can be done either via Total Access (faculty and staff), MyCougar Health Portal (students) or by emailing email@example.com. You will be assigned a contact tracer by APU. The contact tracer will reach out to you and work with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to identify anyone with whom you may have had close contact.
All members of the APU community must follow the university’s health and safety protocols to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Symptom checks, a critical component of our health and safety plans, are required before students, faculty, and staff come on campus for any reason.
