David Stevens, Ed.D., received his doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Southern California, where he produced case studies on alternative capstone experiences being utilized at highly selective, tier-one private research universities. He received his Master of Science from California State University Fullerton and his Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College. Before joining APU, Stevens was an assistant professor and director of the single subject credential program at Point Loma Nazarene University from 2006-2010. He was then a professor and the director of clinical experience and director of the university intern program for the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University. He also has 13 years of public school teaching experience, previously serving as a teacher and assistant principal at Bathgate Elementary School in Orange County, as well as teaching elementary and secondary math. His current research includes neuroscience and applying recent discoveries to new modalities and learning models.
