Biography

Sneha A. Tharayil, PhD, is a proud alumna of Azusa Pacific University, having graduated from the Liberal Studies program in 2008. She then went on to earn her Multiple (and Single) subject credentials and Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Cal Poly Pomona University in 2012. After teaching in a variety of K-12 classrooms, including as a 6 th -8 th grade science, writing, and math teacher in a Catholic elementary school in California’s San Fernando Valley, she went onto pursue her Ph.D. in STEM Education from The University of Texas at Austin. Her research specializes in project-based service-learning for pre-college engineering education. Dr. Tharayil’s research interests span a host of issues pertaining to K-12 engineering education, youth purpose, and integrating Christian faith and morals. Dr. Tharayil also previously participated in multiple professional development and research internship programs with NASA, including a summer research internship with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2012.
