Biography

As a committed lifelong learner, Ebenezer Puplampu (Ebe) views theory and practice as inter-dependent phenomena. He is a scholar-practitioner who has been working as a human resources practitioner and as an educator. As a Human Resources Practitioner, Ebe has over 25 years of experience in the INGO HR management and leadership space. For over two decades, he worked with the world’s largest Christian, international NGO, World Vision International, where he held various management and leadership roles in human resources management and organizational development. At World Vision, Ebe was a member of the Global P&C leadership team that oversaw ~50,000 employees working in over 100 countries. His work enabled him to travel to and work in over 20 countries across 5 continents. Ebe is currently the chief people officer at Mercy Ships International, the largest civilian hospital-ship Christian NGO providing surgical care to the forgotten poor around the world.

As an Educator, Ebe joined Azusa Pacific University as an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Leadership and Organizational Psychology in January 2015. He has developed and taught several courses in the MA in Leadership, MS in Organizational Psychology, and Leadership minor programs. He has also taught in the Department of Communication. Ebe holds a BSc in Administration–Human Resources Management from the University of Ghana, Accra Ghana, and an MA in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University in St. Davids, PA, USA. He is currently at the dissertation stage of completing a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ, USA.

As a Jesus follower, Ebe views his work with students as an aspect of his worship in the context of his bigger redemptive journey. He thrives especially in a faith-integrated work environment where Christ-centeredness is the guiding value and Christ-actualization is the ultimate goal.
