Biography

Dr. Hannah Knott, PhD, CCLS, CTRP-C has taught in the MS in Child Life and undergraduate psychology degree programs since 2018. Prior to coming to APU, Dr. Knott designed and taught CSU Fresno’s first undergraduate child life course while serving on the Child and Family Sciences Department’s Community Advisory Board. Dr. Knott has worked clinically as a child life specialist since 2014. At one former hospital position Hannah established graduate and undergraduate practicums as well as a pediatric family advisory board. At Azusa Pacific, Hannah has enjoyed designing and implementing curriculum for the MS in Child Life’s online degree pathway, and her educational research has focused on thriving among online learners. Hannah’s clinical research has focused on the efficacy of a child life specialist intervention to reduce children’s anxiety before surgery. Read about that research.
