Biography

Jade Kay received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2016. Her dissertation was on sleep quality and perceived stress in older adults living in the community. She graduated from UCLA with her MSN in 2000. Her focus is Nurse Practitioner with specialty in Family Practice and subspecialty in Neuropsychiatry. She has been a practicing FNP for 17 years with experience in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Family Medicine. She has published an article as a co-author in 2011 entitled "Issues in community-based care among homeless minorities" in the Journal of National Black Nurses Association. Her areas of interest is in neuropsychoimmunology and sleep. She is actively involved in homeless outreach through APU's Homeless Outreach Program and other community homeless ministry.
