Biography

Kofi Akinjide, EdD, is the director of student equity and success at Cabrillo College. Prior to his current roles, he worked as an educational opportunity programs (EOP) science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) counselor at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) and at Rachel Carson College. He has also worked at University College at Azusa Pacific University as a student success coach, and at Fuller Theological Seminary as the program administrator for the African American Church Studies Department. Akinjide’s research interests include antiracism and critical professional learning in the California community colleges. According to the CliftonStrengths assessment, his top 10 talents are: (1) learner, (2) connectedness, (3) intellection, (4) input, (5) discipline, (6) analytical, (7) context, (8) relator, (9) harmony, and (10) focus. He considers himself to be a collaborative engineer of educational equity in higher education.
