Biography

Dr. Sossa came to APU in 2021 as a faculty member in the Biology and Chemistry Department teaching Neurobiology, Regional Anatomy, Human Physiology, and General Biology I. He is committed to training and mentoring the next generation of scientists. His research interests include cockroach sensory neuron adaptation as well as insect metabolism, microbiology, and behavior. He enjoys sharing his cockroach research with students, scientists, and science educators. Dr. Sossa serves on the Department's Assessment Committee and Faith Integration Committee. As a Latino raised in NYC, he is passionately committed to supporting and encouraging underserved and underrepresented communities in the biological sciences.
