Rick Sturdivant, PhD, is an engineer with specialized training in applied electromagnetics and systems engineering. He has 28 years experience developing solutions for military and commercial applications. He was the recipient of a Hughes Aircraft Company Microwave Masters Fellowship while attending UCLA. While at Raytheon, Sturdivant developed the world’s first radar Tile Array Module for which he was awarded the Engineering Excellence Award. Since 2003, he has started several successful technology companies that provide products and services in the radio frequency and wireless markets. He is a recognized expert in the field of Transmit/Receive (T/R) modules and phased arrays. Sturdivant has been awarded seven U.S. patents and has four pending. He has published more than 42 conference papers, journal articles, and workshops on microwave circuits and systems engineering. Sturdivant is the author/co-author of several books and book chapters, including: RF and Microwave Microelectronics Packaging II (Springer Publishing, 2017); Transmit Receive Modules for Radar and Communication Systems (Artech House, 2015); Hands On Guide To Heat Transfer For Microwave and Millimeter-wave Elect. (ebook, 2015); Microwave and Millimeter-wave Electronic Packaging (Artech House, 2013); and RF and Microwave Electronic Packaging, Chapter 1 (Springer Publishing, 2010).
