Announcing APU Gmail for Students

Posted: August 24, 2010

One of IMT’s strategic priorities is to regularly provide new services for our constituents. This summer we set out to improve email service for Azusa Pacific University students. We are pleased to announce the launch of APU Gmail for Students, a feature of Google Apps for Education.

APU Gmail provides all of the benefits of the personal Gmail students may be used to:

  • plenty of storage (over 7GB)
  • better spam blocking
  • quick search
  • great web interface
  • improved mobile access

The difference with APU Gmail is that students won’t see advertisements and will be able to use their current email address.

In addition, Google Apps for Education provides access to tools available for collaboration and productivity, including Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sites, and Google Talk. Sharing is easier since APU friends and colleagues are already in the built-in contact list.

APU students will receive new email in APU Gmail beginning today, August 24, 2010.
