Dear Faculty,

We're a week or so away from Thanksgiving, which means the end of the semester is near.  Like you, we've had a busy and full semester.  Here are a few highlights of recent ITT events and accomplishments:
  • Mobile Learning Camp (MLC): We launched the first ever mobile learning event for faculty on November 1.  Tim Schreffler, ITT Technology Coordinator, dazzled the participants, showing off the latest and greatest mobile devices and apps.  We plan to host another MLC in spring.  Click here for mobile app directory (organized by APU schools).
  • Learning Over Lunch (LOL): We recently hosted a webinar-viewing of "Teaching Naked: Technology and E-Communication for Student Engagement," presented by Jose Bowen.  Close to 20 faculty showed up, enjoyed gourmet pizzas, watched the webinar, and contributed to the discussion afterwards.  Since it was such a hit, we plan to offer more of these in the future.  Click here for webinar material (presentation slides and handout).
  • Online Course Design Wins National Award:  Dr. Bruce Simmerok, ITT Director of Instructional Technology, and Dr. Scott Bledsoe, Graduate Psychology Faculty, were recently awarded the 2013 Sloan-C Effective Practice Award for their online course design project, entitled "Utilizing Multimedia to Enhance Student Learning in an Online Teaching Environment."  Click here for more information
