Azusa Pacific University celebrates the launch of its new Games and Interactive Media program by serving as a host site for Global Game Jam, a worldwide gaming challenge that provides a unique opportunity for people to create, collaborate and practice their game making skills. Individuals of any skill level are invited to take part. Participants work concurrently around the globe, rallying around a central theme, then have 48 hours to create a game. Many games developed in previous Game Jams have become fully realized. Soma Games, a Christian gaming company from Oregon, will open the event. Participants will receive free meals courtesy of Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Jimmy John's.
Members of the public 18 years or older are invited to participate.
