What:
Murray Watts’s newest play, Fire From Heaven: Michael Faraday and the Dawn of the Electrical Age, is coming to Azusa Pacific University for one night only. Watts’s play will feature Andrew Harrison as the actor. From the creators of Mr. Darwin’s Tree, this new play tells the story of a young man from humble beginnings who rose to become one of the 19th century’s greatest experimental scientists.
Who:
Fire From Heaven is produced by Scholarship & Christianity in Oxford (SCIO) with funding from the Templeton Religion Trust and co-sponsorship from the Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion, DCM Oxford, and Faraday Institute for Science and Religion. The production is on its North American tour, with APU being the only institution in California to host it. After the play, APU will host a panel discussion about Faraday’s science and faith with Watts, Elijah Roth, PhD, professor in the Department of Biology and Chemistry, Bradley “Peanut” McCoy, PhD, professor in the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics, and Aisha Chen, PhD, professor in the Department of Engineering and Computer Science.
