AZUSA, Calif. –Thomas Allbaugh, Ph.D., associate professor in Azusa Pacific University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, recently received the Teaching and Excellence and Campus Leadership Award, which grants the recipient $2,000 and is accompanied by a clock. The award honors Allbaugh’s passion for enabling students to reach their potential and his constant leadership among the APU faculty.

In addition to teaching, Allbaugh has written reviews and articles published in Pedagogy, Minnesota English Journal, Focus: A Journal of Writing Centers, and Drama for Students. In 1995, he was honored as co-winner of the Dreams and Visions Short Story of the Year Award. He has also presented at the national Conference on College and Composition and Communication, the Popular Culture Association, and various regional venues.

Allbaugh earned a B.A. in English from Hope College, an M.A. in English from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from Southern Illinois University.
