The Temple City Unified School District (TCUSD) is partnering with Azusa Pacific University to create a pathway to college for Temple City High School students. The TCUSD Board of Education approved a memorandum of understanding with APU at its September 13, 2017, meeting. This agreement provides Temple City High School students who meet admissions requirements with guaranteed admittance to APU, a $10,000 renewable scholarship, application fee waiver, and support with the application process.

“Our partnership with APU is a perfect fit for TCUSD’s focus on school to career enrichment programs and opportunities,” said Superintendent Kathryn Perini. “The support of an academic institution of APU’s caliber bolsters our intent of offering our students broad and wide ranging opportunities in preparation for an ever-changing 21st century learning environment.”

Incoming high school freshmen who successfully follow the academic pathway all four years will be eligible. In addition, current sophomores and juniors, who meet the requirements, may pursue this APU admission as an educational option.

“Both APU and Temple City Unified instill in our students the principles of service, honor, and integrity. This partnership deepens those shared values,” said President Jon R. Wallace, DBA. “We are committed to making college more accessible and affordable for our neighbors and we look forward to welcoming many Temple City High School students into our APU family.”
