Azusa Pacific University presents its second annual Salute to Heroes Football Game on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m., at the Citrus College Stadium. The game, featuring APU vs. Colorado Mesa, honors military service members, veterans, law enforcement, and fire personnel from the local community.

Halftime will feature the Gladstone High School Choir performing “God Bless America,” with a formation at midfield paying tribute to future leaders of America with Boy and Girl Scout troops, local AVID programs, JROTC, ROTC and youth leadership groups from Slauson Middle School.

Azusa resident and retired Command Sergeant Major Roosevelt Mitchell and Marine Corps veteran Ron Tressel, Gladstone High School cross country coach and assistant basketball coach, are the pregame coin toss honorees.

“We are fortunate to host this event where future leaders of our great nation join us in celebrating and honoring those who have sacrificed so much for this country,” said Everette Brooks, executive director of Military and Veteran Services.
