Biography

Soprano Natalie Buickians, DMA, is a recent doctoral graduate of the Eastman School of Music. She is also a recent winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition, Los Angeles District, and participated in SongStudio 2020 at Carnegie Hall under the direction of soprano Renée Fleming. She also participated in the Aram Khachaturian International Competition, where she took top jury prizes, second in the Friends of Eastman Opera Aria Competition, and third in the Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition. Buickians made her European debut in the role of Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica in Urbania, Italy. Her previous operatic engagements include the role of First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Giulietta in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Elle in Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine, Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and the Governess in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw.
