I have a passion for preparing the Undergraduate Baccalaureate nursing students to achieve NCLEX success and exceptional professional practice in their future. My background includes many years as a bedside care provider in the critical care of adults and elderly clients. I have held CCRN certification in the past. I am very interested in Shared Governance models and have participated in several leadership positions and committee responsibilities in both the acute care environment and BSN education.
My area of teaching expertise is MEdical Surgical care of adults and elderly. I have engaged in teaching simulation over 5-6 years and enjoy and enjoy this challenging focus of teaching. Clinical practice and teaching of essential bedside care skills is a very important part of the development of future professional nurses. n addition, assisting students to learn the broader picture of Leadership and Management of responsibilities is a favorite subject for teaching.
Over the past 15 years I have facilitated and managed the inter curricular standardized testing programs at 3 different schools. This type of program is essential for the NCLEX preparation of students and identification of students at risk. It is rewarding to facilitate this growth through work with both students and faculty across the BSN curriculum.
Curriculum, skills and simulation Labs, Accreditation and Evaluation, and standardized Testing are all areas of interest in contributing to the overall role of a faculty member at Azusa Pacific University. I have maintained optimal working relationships with our medical-surgical clinical sites in the High Desert over the past 5 years.
