The Church as Ally: Putting an End to COVID-19 Inequities and Racialized Police Brutality

Azusa Pacific Seminary invites the APU community and alumni to participate in a thoughtful learning opportunity: The Church as Ally: Putting an End to COVID-19 Inequalities and Racialized Police Brutality. This event will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 4 p.m. via Zoom. Hear from pastors and educational leaders as we engage in topics of injustice and what is happening in the world we live in today.

Speakers include:

  • John E. Cager, senior pastor at Ward A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles and president of the L.A. Council of Religious Leaders
  • Terrell Fletcher, senior pastor at City of Hope International, San Diego
  • Fraser Venter, lead pastor at Cucamonga Christian Fellowship in Rancho Cucamonga and Superintendent of the Free Methodist Church in Southern California
  • Patricia Brown, Ph.D., professor of English at Azusa Pacific University and president of Black Faculty, Staff, and Administrators Association
  • Ken Waters, Ph.D., associate dean in the School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University
