APU Hosts Give Thanks Awards, Honors Outstanding Faculty and Staff

The Azusa Pacific University community gathered together virtually on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, for the Give Thanks Awards. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable efforts of faculty and staff collectively and to recognize the outstanding contributions of nine honorees.

"We are so grateful for the APU community and all they have done during these challenging times," President Paul W. Ferguson, Ph.D., DABT, said during his welcome address. “Coming from the leadership team, we want to express our deep gratitude for your tenacity, your diligence, your adaptability, and your teamwork. Today, we say thanks and honor those who have distinguished themselves in a wonderful way. Congratulations to these award winners. You make us proud and, we are a better university because of you.”

Alice V. Watkins Imago Dei Ethos Award:

Patricia Brown, Ph.D., Professor, Department of English

Rose Liegler Graduate Scholarly Achievement Award:

Karen Winslow, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Department of Biblical and Theological Studies and Director, Master of Arts (Theological Studies)

Community Engagement Faculty Award:

Jessica Cannaday, Ph.D., Director, Single Subject Credential Program and Professor, Division of Teacher Education

Teaching Excellence Award:

Michael Lee, M.M., Professor, School of Music and Director of Music Technology
