Meet the Director

Brandy N. Chappell, DPPD, GIST, brings a strong background in campaign, events management, local government, and nonprofit organization work. She worked as a staff member for elected officials, at educational institutions and for community and economic development corporations. Chappell received baccalaureate and graduate degrees from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and the University of Southern California (USC). She specializes in urban and social policy, housing and economic development, geographic information science and technology (GIST), and public health. Chappell completed her instructional training in the Keck School of Medicine at USC. Her research focuses on local government and the use of GIST for data collection. She taught as an adjunct instructor in the California State University system, Keck School of Medicine and the Sol Price School of Public Policy at USC.
