Carnegie Community Engagement Classification
In 2010, Azusa Pacific University became one of 121 institutions nationwide to be granted the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, following a long and arduous selection process. In 2015, these 121 institutions were joined by 240 additional institutions, bringing the total to 361 who share this most prestigious distinction in the United States, recognizing outstanding university commitment to service-learning and community service.
President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll
Azusa Pacific University, with its Center for Academic Service-Learning and outstanding volunteer programs at home and abroad, has won a place on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll nine out of the ten years it has been in existence, including five designations “with Distinction.”
The President’s Honor Roll distinguishes APU as a leader in community service and service learning. This award demonstrates the university’s commitment to:
- Being a service leader in our community.
- Building community partnerships.
- Strengthening our neighborhoods.
- Fulfilling our mission and purpose.
