The Writing Center provides free in-person appointments to all APU students, faculty, staff, and alumni at our East Campus, West Campus, High Desert Regional Campus, Inland Empire Regional Campus, and San Diego Regional Campus locations.
During your appointment, you will maintain authority over your paper. We will never tell you what to do. Instead, we will ask questions and offer assistance.
Be sure to bring the following if applicable:
- a hard copy of your writing project
- a copy of the assignment
- notes and research materials
To make an appointment, visit our online schedule, register, log in, and select one of our Writing Center locations from the dropdown menu. White boxes on the schedule indicate open 15-minute slots. Select the day, time, and writing coach that work best for you and then fill out the appointment form completely. You can choose to make 30- or 45-minute appointments. You may also download detailed instructions about Participating in Online Appointments (PDF), Scheduling Online Appointments (PDF), and Scheduling In-Person Appointments (PDF).
Due to high demand, students can make one appointment per day and two appointments per week. Students can cancel an appointment up until 4 hours before the scheduled start time (apu.mywconline.com). If the appointment is not attended or if it is not canceled at least 4 hours before the start time, it will be marked as “missed.” Students with three missed appointments in one semester will lose the ability to schedule appointments in WC Online for the remainder of the semester. Walk-ins will still be permitted.
For more information about in-person appointments, contact the Writing Center at (626) 815-6000, Ext. 3141, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
