The Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence serves as a resource for the implementation and nurturing of campus-wide diversity-sensitive learning environments, equipping faculty and staff for effective student learning engagement.

Vision for the Center

The vision of Azusa Pacific University’s Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence is an inclusive university environment within which all students, staff, faculty, and administrators thrive. The center fosters APU’s commitment to inclusive excellence through the development and facilitation of diversity initiatives, and supports faculty and staff through various professional development opportunities designed to advance social justice through increasing access, opportunity, equity, diversity, and inclusivity in all aspects of university life.

    When Bishop David Gerard O’Connell, Episcopal Vicar of the San Gabriel Pastoral Region, under the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, walked onto campus the occasion marked the first time APU hosted a pastoral visit by a Catholic bishop.
