Chapel Probation
If a student exceeds his/her number of allotted personal absences for the semester, he/she will be placed on Chapel Probation. A student on Chapel Probation will not be permitted any further unexcused absences and must complete probation sanctions. Two consecutive semesters on Chapel Probation will result in Student Conduct Probation.
Chapel Probation means:
- A hold has been placed on your student account that will prevent you from being able to preregister for classes next semester.
- A hold will be placed on any classes for which you have already registered.
- You must sign and adhere to a probation contract (in Chapel Programs office).
- You must complete chapel sanctions (requirements supplied at Chapel Programs).
- Failure to comply with the terms of Chapel Probation will result in a $200 fine.
Student Conduct Probation means:
In addition to all of the above aspects of Chapel Probation:
- You may not register for more than 14 units the following semester, which may jeopardize your expected graduation date.
- You may not preregister, and if you have already preregistered, your classes will be dropped.
- You will be charged the late registration fee.
- You may not register for any closed classes.
- A Student Conduct Probation letter may be placed in your permanent Student Life file that could be referenced by graduate schools or employers.
- A Student Conduct Probation letter may be forwarded to your parent/guardian when appropriate, as determined by the Office of Student Life.
If a student wishes to appeal Chapel Probation, he/she may obtain an Appeals form in the Chapel Programs office. Completed Appeals forms must be received within one week of the date of Chapel Probation notification.
Chapel attendance is the student's responsibility. Students are expected to check their own attendance record on their personal Cougars’ Den account, and have two weeks to provide verification for any excused absence or to address any attendance discrepancies.
