Overview
APU’s computer information systems major equips students to manage and apply technology in organizations. The focus of this degree is on the application of computer technology on business information systems. Core courses provide a solid computer information systems foundation, covering principles of object-oriented and structured programming, modern operating systems, and database management and development. Later coursework covers advanced programming technique, software engineering, discrete mathematics, accounting, and organizational management.
These then serve as a foundation for more in-depth elective study, where students can tailor their learning to specific areas of interest like artificial intelligence, telecommunication, or web programming. Computer information systems majors leave APU with the technical and organizational knowledge necessary to provide technology leadership.
